For those of you following on FB (follow me here) you may have seen that a web editor of CountryLiving.com featured not one but TWO of my projects!

I don’t even think I can begin to tell you how exciting it was to get the first email which I received on my birthday! What an amazing surprise!!! For those of you who read my blog know that I’m not doing this full time and you know that I refuse to make up projects just to have something to post about. That philosophical difference tends to get in the way of my blog being well known or even “successful” but I want to love blogging for a long time so this is just how I’ve decided to make blogging work for me.

That said, for someone like me who’s been blogging for almost 3 years and with only 300 FB “likes” (which I’m told is not many) to receive an honor of being written about and featured in a magazine I love is quite a compliment. After my first feature I went from about 300 “likes”  to over 2700 “likes”. In the world of blogging, social media follows and likes are the keys to the “bloggy kingdom”. I feel like my little blog just got invited to sit with the popular girls at the lunch table. It’s thrilling!

We all have the want/desire/need to be appreciated and I guess this was my big moment. Feeling the love like that makes all the disappointment from the no-comment posts, and the constant self doubt of even having a blog disappear. At least for the time being. 🙂

Anyways, it’s a big deal and I wanted to celebrate with you right away but then Sofia passed away and I had to think of other things for awhile. But for the new readers/subscribers, welcome! I’m so glad you picked Let’s Get Crafty! as a worthy blog to follow!

In case you missed it here’s feature #1

Let me jump in here and say I am so proud and excited for you. I check out your projects from time to time and consider you a blog I regularly follow. Being a newer blog (not even a year old yet) with a small following I can totally relate. Congrats on the feature! Great work!
