Fall Mantle Finally Christine October 11, 2012 Crafts, Decorating, Holiday Pumpkins, burlap, crows, skulls, oh my! I finished. Finally finished. Nope, not a marathon just a mantle. Ok, so this mantle took me forever. I added and subtracted fall decor onto my mantle for what seemed like weeks. I just wasn’t happy. I think I’m as happy as I can be for a place that I really can’t make permanent changes to. Of course, I wish there was a different color on the walls but renter people don’t really get a say in those things. Pretty sweet ruler wall, ey? The piece that I’m most proud of is my ruler wall. Before there was the huge awkward space between the small trim around the fireplace and the mantle. And I’m pretty sure the painted wood with the stained wood combo doesn’t work. So I decided to make the scary space into a spectacular space with my favorite thing….rulers! LOVE THEM! This part of the mantle took forever. Actually, it took forever plus 2 days. It was like a rubix cube that I was never going to figure out but then I did. Yay me! I added a touch of the spook-tacular to my mantle with the skulls and crows. I didn’t want my mantle to expire once Halloween passed. I can dig it for much longer than that! After Thanksgiving I’ll switch it up for the winter mantle. Oh how I tried to get a good photo of the mantle! I even had Big Daddy shadow me with a make shift spot light as I took pictures. I know that these pictures aren’t doing my mantle any favors but trust me when I say we tried! If you like my Fall wreath you can read how to make your own here. UPDATE: I added some important things to my mantle. You can see the BETTER mantle here. Question: Does my mantle RULE or what? 7 Responses Rose @ Walnut Acre October 16, 2012 I love the ruler wall!
