The following is a true story.

On September 24, 2012, my 4th of July Ruffled Wreath with Pool Noodle & Mirrors came down.

After 120 days of true patriotism I decided to change the front door decor.

Maybe it was the cool nights and crisp mornings that jump started this long over due craft or maybe I’m actually starting to care about decorating. Keeping up. Copying trends. Doing what a good crafty blogger would do. Something. Anything.

I could have thrown up a dang pine cone bouquet on the door. I’ve certainly passed 19 million of them from my door to my car over the last 90 days. Even turned my ankle on about 36 pine cones.

Maybe my laziness expired.

Whatever the reason is I’m glad that I made a new wreath. And I’m glad I waited til I was good and ready to do it.

I’m on my own schedule. That’s why this blog thing is groovy. It’s my way. All the way.

At first I was going to go all out on a new wreath when I suddenly remembered my burlap wreath. My easy to do but oh so cute burlap wreath! I remembered that the whole reason I made one was to be able to reuse it just by swapping out accessories.

I went crazy at Hobby Lobby yesterday. I hate to buy picks and flowers because they’re so expensive but they were on sale and I had a coupon so I just went for it.

All of the pumpkins on the wreath and that includes the ones that look like tomatoes (Oh, how I need a real camera!) are all picks. All I had to do to attach a pumpkin to the wreath was to poke the stick through the wire frame and burlap and bend it just so in the back to make it stay put. So easy.

All of the floral action was from the DollarTree. Paying $1 instead of $4 or $6 per floral pick makes me a happy crafty girl. 🙂

With this renewed decorating spirit I’ve really begun to tackle the awkward space that is my mantle. I can’t wait to show you how it turns out. I think I’ll be posting the finished mantle this week! So far so good! Stay tuned!

Question: Have you decorated your home for fall? Is anyone out there more lazy than I?

I’m linking this project here, here and here.

That looks like Fall on a wreath, and I love that you bought the items from the Dollar store, I’m always looking for fun things to do with dollar store supplies.

Love your wreath, and love the ruffled burlap on one size and the pumpkins scattered all over. It is a very pretty fall wreath, and it kinda makes me smile, it has a nice spirit to it!

I’m sure this is awful but I’m glad you’re in the same camp as me! 🙂 Sometimes I’m just so slow to get things done. I still haven’t finished decorating my mantle for fall. I joke that fall will be over by the time I get it done! Slow to put up and slow to take down…I guess it all works out in the end!

Gail, where do you live? We should all chip in and send you a Hob Lob care package!
