I’m sure it would be uber helpful to you get out of your particular sticky situation but today I can only help you out of one kind. The kind of sticky that is left on your new item after you’ve removed the price tag. Man I hate it when the sticky price tag damages the item I just purchased.
Some stores are better than others when it comes to price tags and their uncool sticky backing. By the way, if you don’t know my easy method to removing a price tag be sure to catch up here.
After removing the price tag from the bottom of my cute little desk organizers I got from Tuesday Mornings, I was left with this.
Cute little magic trick, huh? Actually, this is one of the most annoying things about products and packaging. Only to be surpassed by the plastic packaging with the super seal like the kind used for razors. When will someone wake up and realize that the cheap glue they use on price tags is ruining my excitement.
This picture should have been one of those time lapse videos cause that junk was stuck to my hand for good. I had to come up with a solution before I plunked it down on my freshly painted computer cabinet.
I thought about using felt or wrapping paper to cover the bottom and protect my desk top from the inevitable stickiness but I really wanted to keep the pattern without any chance of another rogue design peaking through.
Then it hit me. Just use Mod Podge.
I painted 2 coats of clear matte Mod Podge on the bottom of each desk organizer and voila! Goo gone for good.
I might be the last one to realize this little trick but I still think it’s a tad brilliant and wanted to share it with you!
How about you, what’s your pet peeve in packaging?
