Mid-Century Modern Dresser Makeover Christine October 22, 2015 Antique Booth, Before & After, Furniture, Furniture Redo It’s that time again! Another contest submission for The Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest! This month’s sponsor is HomeRight and our theme was “Spray it Pretty”. I set off to my garage to choose from about 10 dressers to “pretty up” using my HomeRight Finish Max Sprayer. I settled on this mid-century marvel that I’ve been meaning to get to. Big Daddy and I raced over to Athens, home of the Bulldogs, one morning to snatch up this pretty thing from a couple who were selling off there belongings to move across the country. I went to great lengths to buy this dresser because I loved the wood handles. Even though I don’t typically paint mid century pieces, I knew the outside of the dresser would have to be painted. There were lots of deep scratches and the side looked like a dog might of feasted off of it. I removed the drawers and cleaned them up and then went over them with Restore a Finish in Walnut. I can’t believe how alive these drawers look now! I used 2 coats of Old Fashioned White from General Finishes and it took me about 20 minutes. Well I’m not sure how long it actually took to paint but it was a short amount of time with little effort. The HomeRight sprayer works really great! Having the sprayer makes me feel a bit like a professional. I love the smooth finish! This pretty little guy will be in my booth in a couple of days! I think it will look great and honestly I think someone will buy this pretty quickly. 🙂 For more great “Spray it Pretty” pieces head over to our hosts’ contest posts: Evey from Eveys Creations created a beautiful Frozen themed desk and Lynn from On Fern Avenue shows off her newly restyled gossip chair. My garage is starting to fill up as well. It’s not a bad thing, right? Reply Kimm at Reinvented October 23, 2015 Oh how I love the combo of white and beautiful wood. I love restore a finish also, it does amazing things. 🙂 AND I’m hooked on the Finish Max too, I can’t believe how easy it is to use! Reply L. Grace Lauer October 23, 2015 Stunning and clean.
