Updating An Antique Dresser With Paint Christine February 23, 2016 Furniture Redo, Uncategorized This post was sponsored by DecoArt, Inc. I received free product however, all opinions expressed are my own. The Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest launched another awesome competition with DecoArt, Inc.! The theme for this month was “Make A Statement” using chalk paint from DecoArt. The before shot is missing 2 drawers because I ALWAYS forget to take a before shot. When I’m ready to paint watch out. I will procrastinate for like a year before I do something but when I’m ready to start, I just blow through it. But here she is. All antique-y and in pretty bad shape. The dresser has a more petite style mirror that attaches. I’ve used several DecoArt products and I’ve loved them all. In fact, I used their chalk paint before on several pieces and I liked the outcome. This time, I used Chalky Finish in Lace and I found it to be more difficult to work with. After two coats I felt like the coverage was spotty and did not offer an even color. In some places, the paint looked like a yellow-y white. I wasn’t a fan of doing a 3rd coat so I decided to make this my ultra distressed statement. I actually like the way it turned out even though it wasn’t what I had in mind originally. Here she is ready for sale in my booth at Woodstock Market. Check out the rest of the Fab Furniture Flippin’ projects by going to Thirty Eighth Street or Ciburbanity.
