Fab Finds Friday – Antique Hardware Christine July 20, 2012 Thrifty Finds Well folks, I thought I might lose all sleep last night after I found the bedroom furniture I’d been looking for and it was so cheap I thought I was going to bust waiting for the Craigslist seller to reply to my voicemail and email. I didn’t bust but I didn’t get it either. Talk about a let down. However, I was not detoured from exploring a local estate sale. OMGosh did I find some awesome things! I have a project list running in my head that’s so long I have room for nothing else! And just to tease you I’ll be showing only 1 thing today! If you’ve ever restored old furniture you know how important those drawer handles are! I think they make or break a piece. Today, while exploring one of the most amazing garages, 2nd only to my grandpa’s, I found these…. Holy, moly! Doesn’t this look like I scored a box of gold? It’s actually a ton of antique furniture hardware from a company called National Lock Co. out of Rockford IL. Have you ever heard of them? These babies are SPAACTAACULAAR! I was so excited to brag…er…blog about my find I haven’t even looked at ALL of them! But here is a sampling of a few up close. Check out the American eagle on this one! WOWZA! I know it’s hard to see but there is one that has an Asian motif. Again, holy moly! I probably shouldn’t be THIS excited about hardware but seriously they’re sooooo cool! Oh and um also I bought the entire box for $20. Boo ya! How’d ya like that bomb? Question: Anyone else want to brag on their fab find?
