Ummm, so you know how I said yesterday that we were getting snow? Yeah, so probably thousands of my fellow Atlantans spent the night in their car on the freeway. Kids were stuck on school buses. Home Depots became make shift shelters for those who abandoned their car at the nearest exit. I was supposed to meet up with someone today but when I found out she spent about 16 hours in her car and still wasn’t home, every bit of the news reports became really real.

If you were one of the individuals stuck, I’m so sorry and I’m praying that you’ll be able to return to your warm beds very soon.

Thankfully Big Daddy and I are safe and sound. I’ve been cleaning the house and I finally got around to taking some pictures of our entryway. Last summer I found a blue painted metal plant stand at Goodwill for about $5 and I knew instantly what I wanted to do with it. I loved the color and chippy paint. And it seemed like the right size for a small wall next to our coat closet to throw keys and what not on. The only problem with it was that there was no table top. No problem!

I headed out to my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore to find a nice piece of marble to place right on top. My local ReStore is always stocked with tiles and bathroom countertop type marble so I didn’t have to search very long before I found the right piece. The marble had a few dings on the corner but since I was putting on top of an already worn piece it didn’t bother me. I haven’t tried but if I wanted to I’m sure I could stalk ReStore and upgrade to a better piece of marble but for right now it’s working for me.

So for under $10 I have a unique one of a kind entry table.

So what do you think about my entry table made from a plant stand?
