I’m Back Baby! Christine January 7, 2013 Life Happens I think I’ve forgotten how to blog. I’ve missed it for sure! I think it’s been a month since I’ve done a crafty project and my mind is racing with lots of ideas. But before we move forward I have to tell you what I’ve been doing! A few days after we completed our move and threw up some lights onto the house, Big Daddy and I flew to Southern California. Yep, we had a gig in San Diego and I was all too happy to go in December! I’ve moved about a billion times and have done my share of domestic and international travel but can you believe California and I had never met? Unbelievable. What a beautiful place. Seriously. I had Cali all wrong. It’s not like I’ve never seen the ocean. With family in Seattle and a plethora of stops to the beaches on the east coast, I sort of thought that it would be the same. But it’s not the same at all. Here’s Big Daddy’s childhood ‘hood. Now I finally understand why he’s always wanted to move back. Check out the hill-age. You won’t see that on the east coast. And those rock formations, otherwise known as the end of the continent, are amazing. Doesn’t this picture look like we are standing on the edge of the earth? Big Daddy and I were lucky enough to be invited to speak at CRU’s winter conference but we weren’t speaking until Sunday night so we took full advantage of being a tourist! Big Daddy and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on December 29th and here he is making it memorable by trying his first fish taco. Yuk. He loved it. I think he also had a seafood pizza or squid covered ice cream sundae. Yuk. He likes some crazy things. Oh wait I guess that includes me. That’s cool. Our host knew it ’twas our special day and provided us with free tickets to the San Diego Zoo! How awesome is that?! Here’s a fact snack to chew on. I love hamburgers. With cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce. I’d probably eat a burger taco and bacon over ice cream. So being the connoisseur that I am I knew I had to find an In-N-Out burger. Cali peeps who I’ve met along the journey of life always manage to slip into the conversation something about this burger joint. Turns out I didn’t have to search very far. You’re more likely to find this sign than those golden arches. I was thrilled with the burger but mostly I was in love with the people. Everyone is so relaxed and happy. I think I might want to go back as soon as possible. And because it’s cool I thought I would show you more beautiful pics of our business/anniversary trip! Check out those good looking shadows! So tell me gang, anyone else been to San Diego? 2 Responses Jaclyn B January 8, 2013 Love San Diego! Been there several times for conferences. Next time you will seriously have to try Jimmy Carter’s Mexican Restaurant! It is the best! Reply Regena January 8, 2013 Only been there once in the 60’s (ancient, I know!) and it was fantastic. Doesn’t look to shabby now. Glad you liked it. Northern Calif.. was my favorite. Glad to see you back.
