I’m pretty excited about this crafty toilet paper roll flower mobile! Yep, those cute blue flowers are actually toilet paper rolls! This whole mobile cost me $1. It may cost you a few dollars more if you don’t have all the supplies on hand. So, let’s get right to it!

SUPPLIES NEEDED

1.  Toilet Paper Rolls. 1 TP roll made a 5 petal flower!

2.  Fishing Line. I used Zebco Omniflex Monofilament Fishing Line.

3.  Wreath. I bought a wreath from the DollarTree.

4.  Glue Gun.

5.  Spray Paint. I used Rust-Oleum’s Gloss Navy Blue.

DIRECTIONS

Disclaimer: I collected my empty toilet paper rolls for a few weeks before I began this project! Start collecting now!

Begin by pressing the TP roll flat and then cut strips between 1/2″ to 1″. Each strip will become a petal for your flower.

Hint: I used the first petal as my guide when cutting the rest of my petals to ensure that each one was roughly the same width.

After I had cut a ton of petals, I laid them out on the floor to get an idea of how many flowers I could make.

Once I was satisfied with the look of my flowers I used my hot glue gun to attach each petal to the next. Once the flowers were completely dry, I took them outside and sprayed them with Rust-Oleum’s Gloss Navy Blue. Fortunately, spray paint dries quickly because I was ready to see my finished product!

To create a mobile, I bought a wreath from the DollarTree and used my fishing line to thread through one flower petal and then through the wreath. I tried to vary the length of the fishing line to give my mobile some dimension and interest.

After the flowers were dangling perfectly, I used 2 more strands of fishing line to hang the mobile. I strung the fishing line through the top of the wreath so that the two strings crossed in the middle like a big + sign. By doing this you’ll stabilize the wreath form and the TP flowers.

So, what do you think about my TP Roll Flower Mobile? I think this would be adorable in a nursery but since we don’t have a baby, we’re using it in our sun room. The mobile does entertain our cat, baby Sofia. Does that count? I have plenty of TP Roll Flowers left so I’ve already been plotting my next crafty idea. Stay tuned!

Question: What would you make with toilet paper rolls?

(I don’t know if my first reply went through so I’ll post again!)

Thanks Erin! At first I thought this would be a “one and done” project but I’m still collecting!!! Thank God for a supportive husband!

That is adorable! I love it when things that are basically trash are repurposed for something so pretty!
